About Us

Our FAIRHOPE Hospice and Palliative Care Inc. programs provide a special kind of caring, embracing a compassionate and understanding concept of care. Providing comfort care for those with a terminal illness, as well as lending emotional, spiritual and social support to their families and friends during their illness and grieving period. Our services include:

• On-Call Services 24 Hours a Day, 7 Days a Week
• Regular Registered Nurse and Licensed Practical Nurse Visits
• Medical Director/Physician Consultations and Visits
• Pain and Symptom Management
• Palliative Pharmacy Services
• Provide Medications related to terminal condition
• Routine Home Care, Inpatient Care, Crisis (Continuous) Care and Respite Care
• Coordination of Durable Medical Equipment needs and supplies
• Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapies
• Complementary Therapies – Music, Therapeutic Touch, Aromatherapy, Pet Therapy
• Bereavement Services
• Community Grief Services
• Social Workers Visits
• Hospice Aide Visits
• Spiritual Care/Chaplain Visits
• Palliative Care
• Volunteer Visits
• No One Dies Alone Program (a partnership with Fairfield Medical Center Foundation)

Most hospice patients wish to receive care at home. Sometimes an alternate plan is needed. Care may also be provided in nursing and assisted living facilities, retirement communities, and hospitals. If care is needed in an inpatient hospice care setting, that’s where The Pickering House comes in.
