This month, we're shaking things up a bit with a fun stock market simulation competition! But first, Logan Gray, Financial Advisor with Abel Financial Services, will walk us through an intro to investing basics and responsible financial planning. (This topic was requested by some of you!) You'll learn how to select/work with a financial advisor, and you'll have the basics down so you're speaking the same language (or at least close to it).

Then, take part in an investment competition! While we know investing isn't a game...we're going to play one anyway. You'll all get an imaginary $25,000 to invest in stocks and mutual funds however you see fit over the next six months. Buy one stock, buy a portfolio of investments, buy/sell daily/weekly/monthly/never again...you choose. Whoever has the most money at the end will win a $100 gift card to Body Ache Escape Wellness Center, courtesy of PACC & WLC.

Bring a laptop or tablet (via phone is a bit tricky) to get registered with HowTheMarketWorks.com, a free stock market simulation and financial literacy game. Follow along as Logan shows us how to research stocks and use the program to simulate managing a portfolio of stocks and mutual funds. Will you be crowned WLC's Wolf of Wallstreet? (If you can't make this meeting but wish to participate, contact Kim to get added by July 5.)

Logan Gray
Logan has lived in Pickerington all his life. He graduated from Pickerington High School Central in 2018, and then from The Ohio State University in 2021 with a degree in Finance. He started working with Abel Financial Strategies full time in March of 2022. He is happy to have started his business and now have an office in Pickerington, as he is still actively involved in the community. He spends time attending and volunteering at Grace Fellowship Church, and he also volunteers for PYAA as the director of their youth bowling program. Outside of this he enjoys outdoor activities such as running and spending quality time with friends and family.

Join us on the third Friday of the month, for an opportunity to hear from inspiring guest speakers and create some amazing connections!

The Women’s Leadership Coalition was launched with the goal to educate, inspire, mentor, and support women in leadership positions in the workplace and in the community. The program also fulfills key parts of Pickerington Area Chamber's vision and mission to provide opportunities for connection and to help our members and community thrive both today and tomorrow.
